Our Story

We’re so thankful for the journey that God has been leading us on as a church family and a movement! We’d love for you to join us!

History

The journey of the Everyday movement began in California in 1985 when Mark & Cheryl Perry, our Senior Leaders, met at the San Luis Obispo Vineyard church, fell in love, got married, and started a family. After working as a carpenter and then as a public school teacher, Mark joined the staff of the SLO church to help plant the nearby Five Cities Vineyard church, where he became senior pastor in 1992. After establishing a thriving, growing church, Mark & Cheryl moved their family to the Midwest to establish another Vineyard church in the inner city. It was there, going door-to-door in the projects week after week, that Mark & Cheryl’s love for the poor and broken grew.

CENTRAL COAST

When the Perrys returned to the Central Coast of California in 2002, they arrived with a fresh vision to establish a regional church & apostolic center that touched the world. In the next few years, the Perrys connected with Iris Ministries in Mozambique, Africa, they started Central Coast House Of Prayer, they established the first Everyday Church in Arroyo Grande, and Mark wrote the first edition of his book, Kingdom Churches.

LOCAL & GLOBAL MOVEMENT

Everyday grew quickly and expanded God’s kingdom. In 2009, Iris Central Coast was birthed as a global missions expression, and in 2012 the Perrys established Iris Leaders School, a leadership training experience that has now touched over 20 nations. Soon new ministries were birthed like Freedom Calling (a ministry to combat sex trafficking) and VOICES House Of Prayer, and new teams were sent to establish churches in Lompoc (CA), North County (CA), Springfield (Ohio), Porterville (CA), Syndey (Australia), Sacramento (CA), Knoxville (TN), Varanasi (India), and most recently San Luis Obispo. Other churches, like Kindle Church in Wales and our friends in Lahore, Pakistan also began to align with the Everyday movement. Since Everyday’s start, we have sought God for His strategy to win people to Christ and to impact nations. Something good is happening, and we invite you to consider journeying with us so our story can unfold together.
